Germany to Supply Ukraine with 33 Mobile Power Plants, Aiding Millions.
Germany to Provide Mobile Combined Heat and Power Plants to Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: In response to ongoing Russian attacks on infrastructure, Germany is sending 33 mobile combined heat and power plants to support Ukraine's energy sector. This assistance is intended to secure electricity and heating for Ukrainians, who face persistent threats to their critical systems.
Germany's Ambassador to Ukraine, Heiko Thoms, stated that a single unit can supply power for tens of thousands of people. Collectively, all 33 stations have the capacity to meet the energy needs of millions of Ukrainian citizens, representing a significant contribution to restoring the country's energy stability. This support is part of a broader international effort to help Ukraine withstand the winter.
Heiko Thoms: 'What happens here every night is a war crime. It is done exclusively to terrorize the civilian population.'
Ambassador Thoms further underscored the gravity of the situation, noting that Germany is providing not just generators or energy storage systems, but also transport for repair work within the energy sector. 'The challenge lies in connecting them—just as with the generators—but we will work together to do this as quickly as possible,' the ambassador added.
Significance of the Power Plant Transfer
The delivery of these heat and power plants is a crucial step in reinforcing Ukraine's energy infrastructure. It will help mitigate the effects of the energy crisis and ensure vital resources for the population during this difficult period.
This measure reflects Germany's commitment to supporting Ukraine in the face of war, particularly in the energy sphere, which has suffered extensive damage from military actions. Supplying mobile power stations could prove critically important for providing the population with basic necessities like heat and electricity during the winter months. Furthermore, it demonstrates sustained international solidarity with Ukraine, a matter of continued relevance within the context of global energy security.
