NMT-2025: Rada determined the number of mandatory subjects.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill on the rules for conducting state final certification and the 2025 admission campaign.
According to the new law, from 2025, results of the National Multisubject Test will be used for admission to higher education, replacing the External Independent Testing.
The bill was supported by 258 members of parliament, as reported by Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
According to the document, from 2025, admission to higher education institutions will be based on entry exams from 2022-2025.
The National Multisubject Test will include three mandatory subjects - "Ukrainian Language", "Mathematics", and "Ukrainian History" - and one subject of choice: "Foreign Language", "Biology", "Geography", "Physics", "Chemistry", or "Ukrainian Literature".
The law does not envisage the state final certification for students of the fourth, ninth, and 11th grades. Therefore, the National Multisubject Test will only be taken by graduates planning to enter higher education institutions.
From 2027, the Ukrainian senior school will undergo significant changes. Students will have the opportunity to choose subjects and study profiles based on their interests.
In addition, high school students will study for an additional year to be better prepared for university entrance.
