Keegan, the former Liverpool star and another legend of the England team, held an honorable place on the wall in the team's hotel room. However, for Rooney, who grew up supporting Everton and gained fame at Manchester United, this was unacceptable.

“When we first arrived, we always had the same room, and each of them had pictures of England legends hung up,” Rooney recounted in his podcast.
“In my room, there was a picture of Kevin Keegan, and I certainly wasn’t going to sleep every night with an image of a Liverpool legend on my wall.”

The player did not remain silent and directly expressed his wishes.

“I made them take it down, and they hung up my image,” he admitted.

Rooney became a prominent figure in English football. He debuted for the national team in 2003 at the age of 17, becoming the youngest player to ever represent the Three Lions at that time.
