Cyberpolice warns about fake chatbots: how not to lose money.
According to inkorr.com: The Cyberpolice of Ukraine, together with the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, warns citizens about a new threat: scammers have launched fake chatbots that masquerade as official state services.
Criminals imitate the style and logos of legitimate services to appear credible and gain users' trust. Their goal is to seize citizens' money and personal data.
These scammers offer assistance with purchasing a car, checking documents, or 'searching for a good deal.' In reality, the victim risks losing money without the possibility of receiving the car or providing criminals access to their personal information.
The Cyberpolice specialists recommend using only official resources, such as the 'Diia' app or the 'Driver's Cabinet' service. It is important to avoid clicking on suspicious links and not to make payments for cars that you have not personally verified.
If you detect fake services or suspicious activity, urgently report it to the Cyberpolice.
Cyber space in Ukraine contains various threats, so it is important to remain vigilant and cautious online. Check even the most attractive offers and do not rely on unfamiliar sources of information.
Cybercrime is becoming increasingly popular among scammers who spare no effort to deceive citizens. That is why it is crucial to adhere to circulating recommendations from law enforcement and choose only verified channels for receiving services. Experience from previous years shows that caution in the digital space can save both money and personal information.Read also
