EES delays at the border with Poland: how to avoid queues at border crossings.
The State Custom Service warned citizens about the possibility of slowing down the crossing through the 'Yahodin - Dorohusk' and 'Ustyluh - Zosin' points due to the implementation of the digital Entry/Exit System (EES) into the Schengen area.
Registration and passing control
According to inkorr.com: All those planning to cross the border at these points must register in advance at the self-service terminal or with a border service employee. For children under 12, biometric data is not required; however, during subsequent entries, it will be verified based on the already existing information in the Schengen area.
Travel recommendations
The introduction of the new system may lead to an increase in the time for passing control procedures, so customs officers advise planning trips with a time buffer or choosing other border crossings to avoid unforeseen delays.
The State Custom Service emphasizes that possible delays at the border with Poland are related to the implementation of the digital entry/exit control system to the Schengen area. Citizens intending to travel through these points are advised to register in advance and consider possible delays.
It is important to note that the new system is a step towards simplifying border crossings and enhancing security. However, as practice shows, the transition period may be challenging for both travelers and customs services. To avoid queues and delays, citizens should demonstrate patience and caution in planning their trips.
