New gas billing rules: Ukrainians reminded of important changes.
With the beginning of the new gas year, Ukrainians need to consider important changes in gas delivery calculations for 2025. Although gas distribution tariffs remain unchanged, the amount on bills may vary depending on individual consumption.
According to the "Naftogaz of Ukraine" group, the payment amount is calculated based on the consumption volume for the previous gas year - from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024. This volume is distributed into 12 equal parts and multiplied by the tariff approved by the regulator for a specific gas distribution network operator.
It is very important for consumers to submit meter readings every month from the 28th to the 5th, even if there is no consumption. If readings are not submitted, the gas distribution operator will determine the volume based on planned monthly consumption, which may lead to significant discrepancies with actual volumes.
There are various communication channels available for submitting readings: personal account on the gas distribution operator's website, the gaz.ua chatbot, SMS to the number 4647, or contacting the call center. Bills are generated by the 12th of each month, and they must be paid by the 25th.
We remind you that the Ministry of Energy commented on the cessation of gas transit and the threats by Fico to 'leave Ukraine without electricity'.
