The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, emphasized that the country's energy system is operating stably, but the state of the sector remains complex due to attacks from Russian troops. In particular, he noted that attacks on the energy infrastructure create additional risks for the system.
'Regarding the preparation for the next heating season. Even considering that the energy system is currently operating in stable mode, the situation is complex. First of all, this is the result of unprecedented attacks on the energy system.'
Halushchenko warned that the resumption of mass strikes could negatively affect the operation of the electricity sector in the country, including generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity.
'The resumption of mass strikes may impact the work of the corresponding generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity.'
The energy fund has tripled procurement volumes of equipment for Ukraine
The minister also stressed that thanks to increased procurement of equipment for the Ukrainian energy sector, the country will be able to enhance its energy security amid the conflict with Russia. The new equipment will contribute to the stable operation of the energy system and reduce vulnerability to possible attacks.
