The Ministry of Defense revealed reform of procurement for the army: what will change.
According to the words of the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Shevtsov, the defense procurement system demonstrates resilience, flexibility, and adaptability to the challenges of war. During the first seminar of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Preparation, and Education Center (JATEC) on experience exchange in defense procurement under martial law in Ukraine, he emphasized the importance of close cooperation with NATO for reforming defense procurement and exchanging practical experiences in the context of the total armed aggression of Russia.
Procurement System in War Conditions
According to inkorr.com: Mykola Shevtsov emphasized the uniqueness of the Ukrainian procurement system, which demonstrates decentralization in wartime. He noted that military units can independently meet their needs in the shortest possible time. He also focused on the importance of digitalization of logistics and procurement processes. In particular, it was mentioned about the implementation of SAP Defence and DOT-Chain Defence, as well as the work on digital registries of manufacturers and procurement participants.
The defense procurement system in Ukraine confirms its resilience and effectiveness, adapting to the conditions of war. Decentralization and digitalization have become the main elements that allow military units to be supplied with necessary resources instantly and to enhance their performance in martial law conditions.
