Road Repairs in Odesa to Disrupt Traffic on Multiple Streets.
Odesa’s Ongoing Roadworks
According to Novyny.live: Starting March 20, 2023, Odesa has been carrying out road and sidewalk repairs, which are expected to cause traffic disruptions. These efforts are part of a broader infrastructure overhaul planned through 2026, with a total budget exceeding 324 million hryvnias.
Of the allocated funds, 74.3 million hryvnias are designated for major capital repairs, while 250 million hryvnias will cover routine maintenance. The main phase of construction began in March 2023 and is scheduled to continue until July 2026.
Locations of Repair Work
Repairs are currently underway at the following locations:
- Frantsuzkyi Boulevard
- Svyatoslava Karavanskoho Street
- Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street
- Sudnobudivna Street
- Ivana Franka Street
- Skver Heroiv Oborony Odesy Street
- Nalyvna Street
According to plans, tram and trolleybus services in Odesa are set to resume on April 1, 2023. This move aims to ease passenger transport during the roadworks, though drivers and pedestrians should still anticipate potential traffic delays. While the repair campaign promises long-term improvements to the city’s infrastructure, it will inevitably cause temporary inconveniences for residents and visitors alike.
These road repairs are a key part of Odesa’s infrastructure development, with the potential to enhance transport accessibility and overall quality of life for locals. However, the extended timeline may lead to short-term disruptions, particularly during peak traffic hours. Keeping the public informed about route changes and restrictions will help mitigate the impact of the construction on daily routines.
