A total of 74.3 million Ukrainian hryvnias has been allocated for capital road repairs, while 250 million hryvnias is designated for routine maintenance. The plan includes restoring over 156,000 square meters of pavement.
The main phase of work will run from March to July. As part of the preparation, Odesa will conduct test runs of tram routes on March 26 and 27. It is worth noting that Mykolaiv has no plans for capital road repairs in 2026.
This infrastructure overhaul is part of Odesa's broader strategy to enhance the city's transportation system, potentially improving safety and travel comfort. While the temporary inconveniences from the repairs may be frustrating, the upgraded road surfaces could reduce vehicle maintenance costs in the long run. Given the significant investment, both city officials and residents will be closely monitoring the progress and quality of the work.
