One of the largest drone attacks: Air Force reported on destroyed targets.

On the night of July 31, 2024, the enemy attacked with an X-59 guided air missile from the airspace of occupied Kherson and 89 Shahed-type attack UAVs from the areas of Yeisk, Sescha, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk. This was reported by the Commander of the Air Force Mykola Oleschuk.

«This is one of the most massive Shahed-131/136 attack UAV attacks. A similar number of Shaheds were used by the enemy on New Year's Eve, January 1, 2024. As then, today the Ukrainian air defense held up and repelled a massive attack by enemy drones», – he reported 

Out of 89 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs detected by the radar units of the Air Force, all 89 were shot down.

Mobile fire groups of all Ukrainian Defense Forces, tactical aviation of the Air Force and army aviation of the Ground Forces, anti-aircraft missile units, and EW of the Air Force were involved in repelling the air attack. The guided air missile X-59, which the enemy used to attack Mykolaiv, was also shot down.

Let us recall that on the morning of July 31, an air alert was announced in Kyiv and several regions due to the threat of attack UAVs. As of 7:52, the alarm was lifted in the capital and several regions.

In particular, at night the alarm lasted for more than seven hours. Late in the evening of July 30, an air alert was announced in Kyiv and several regions. The Air Force reported a threat of ballistics from the north and attack UAVs.

Notably, on the night of July 31, Kyiv experienced the largest attack of 2024 in terms of the number of UAVs used.

As reported, during the morning, the second wave of the airstrike by drones, enemy UAVs continued to attack Kyiv in waves from specific directions. But not a single drone achieved its goal. The air defense forces and means struck down several more enemy attack drones.

In total, more than four dozen enemy UAVs were shot down in the airspace of Kyiv and on the approaches to the capital.
