DBR officer uncovered a scheme with combat payments: the defendant faces up to 12 years.
DBR completed the investigation regarding a military official
According to inkorr.com: The team of the State Bureau of Investigations has completed a pre-trial investigation regarding an official of one of the military units, who used subordinates for street food trade in the Pokrovsk region of Donetsk.
According to the Bureau, the officer convinced two servicemen to stay in the unit instead of going to the front. At the same time, they were to carry out his personal tasks unrelated to military service. In addition, he organized their monthly combat allowance.
'From January to October 2023, the subordinate soldiers, who previously served as performers and musicians in the unit's orchestra, received 100 thousand hryvnias per month for participation in combat operations. Thus, the total amount of damage caused to the state amounted to 2 million hryvnias,' - reported the DBR.
The official is suspected of exceeding authority or official powers under martial law (part 5 of article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The indictment in this case has already been sent to court.
Consequences of the violations
For this article, punishment of up to 12 years of imprisonment is provided.
The State Bureau of Investigations is doing everything possible to compensate for the damage caused.
The investigation revealed that the military official abused his position and forced subordinates to perform illegal tasks, violating Ukrainian legislation. Urgent measures have been taken to compensate for the damage, and the indictment has been sent to court for further consideration of the case.
This case underscores the importance of adhering to military discipline and legislation, especially in wartime. Such abuses can cause significant harm both to the state and to the moral authority of the Ukrainian armed forces. The DBR will continue to work on ensuring law and order and justice in the military sphere.
