Occupiers may begin an offensive on Zaporizhzhia: details from The Economist.
According to a high-ranking Ukrainian official, the next target of Russian troops is Zaporizhzhia. According to The Economist, Russia may have already regained control over some territories in the Kursk region. This was a major success for Ukrainian forces after the counteroffensive in 2023. However, the battlefield situation for Ukraine looks grim: Russia is advancing on several fronts simultaneously and has already suffered significant losses. It is attempting to encircle the hub of Pokrovsk and continues its advance to the south, controlling heights near Vuhledar. The latest offensive actions of Russian troops in the border area between the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, although achieving some tactical success, are not yet part of a broader offensive operation.
This was reported by the commander of the battalion of the 31st separate mechanized brigade, call sign "Ridik".
