Occupiers are bringing 'large air defense' to the Crimean bridge: Pletenchuk explained why.
Russian military are deploying S-300 missiles near the Kerch bridge to protect the occupying forces, said the spokesman of the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk.
He explained that the Russians need additional missiles, as the air defense systems in Crimea are constantly operating.
Russians have indeed brought a considerable number of air defense systems, large air defense... They need the missiles, it's not a coincidence.
Pletenchuk noted that Russian forces are paying more attention to the protection of the Kerch bridge than to other objects on their territory.
The situation in Crimea remains tense due to regular shelling by Ukrainian forces. There is a serious threat of shelling on the Kerch bridge, which connects Crimea with Russia.
Earlier, Pletenchuk stated that the Crimean bridge is protected by the Russians, although there are practically no maritime components for its defense.
A rare modification of the "Pantsir" air defense system has been deployed on the Crimean bridge.
The presentation of Ukraine's position in the Arbitration Tribunal in the case of Ukraine's rights in the Black and Azov seas ended on October 3.
