David Nugent has become a player-manager at Anstey Nomads
According to The Sun: Former England player David Nugent has been appointed as player-manager of the eighth-division club Anstey Nomads. Nugent, who is celebrating his 40th birthday, ended his playing career in 2021 after a loan spell at Tranmere Rovers, signed from Preston North End. However, the striker has decided to return to the pitch and take on new responsibilities.
This move could mark an interesting chapter in Nugent's career, as he seeks to continue his contribution to football despite the end of his professional playing days. By remaining active on the field, he will be able to share his experience with younger players in the team and influence the growth of the club.
