Zelenskyy Reveals Plans for Patriot Missile Production in Europe and Ukraine.
Patriot Missile Manufacturing Set for Europe
According to Espreso.tv: Discussions are underway regarding the production of Patriot missiles in Germany or another European nation, with the possibility of shifting manufacturing to Ukraine once the war concludes. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed agreements for additional PAC-3 interceptor missiles. These topics were addressed during the NATO summit held on July 9, 2023, in Ankara.
President Zelenskyy noted that Germany has already established its own supply chain for PAC-2 interceptor missiles, signaling the country's readiness to scale up production and deepen defense cooperation. He stressed the urgency of mobilizing technical teams and representatives from various ministries, stating:
“Now it is crucial that our technical groups, all our representatives from different ministries, and members of the executive branch begin working on this without delay.” - Volodymyr Zelenskyy
Strengthening Collaboration with International Allies
“As I mentioned, I believe this summit was productive for Ukraine,” Zelenskyy emphasized. According to him, joint efforts among leaders, including work with President Trump, helped resolve these matters favorably. As a result, preparations are actively underway to secure additional PAC-3 interceptor missiles, marking a significant step toward bolstering Ukraine's defense capabilities.
The discussions about producing Patriot missiles in Europe and later relocating production to Ukraine highlight a strategic approach to strengthening the country's defense. Partnering with Germany, which already has an established missile manufacturing infrastructure, could prove pivotal in ensuring Ukraine's security after the war ends. The accelerated engagement of technical teams and ministries, as urged by President Zelenskyy, underscores the need for swift implementation of these defense plans.
