The government will raise the minimum pension: how much the payments will increase.
According to inkorr.com: The government has presented the budget project for the next year to the Verkhovna Rada, which plans to increase the minimum pension and other social standards. However, experts note that these changes may not meet the needs of many citizens and have already triggered mixed reactions.
Journalist Iryna Polyakova has thoroughly examined the budget project and highlighted the problematic aspects of these changes.
Minimum pension: +234 UAH
According to the document, the minimum pension will rise by only 234 UAH from the beginning of next year. Other important indicators, such as the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum, will also be increased.
- Minimum wage: from 8000 UAH to 8647 UAH.
- Subsistence minimum: from 2920 UAH to 3209 UAH.
Other social payments will also increase, but only by small amounts, which has caused some outrage in society.
Not everyone will receive a significant increase
It is worth noting that a substantial increase is only expected for residents of mountainous regions, while for many other pensioners, the increase may turn out to be symbolic. The real consequences of these changes will be known only after the budget is approved by the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the draft State Budget for 2026, the government plans to raise the minimum pension by only 234 UAH, which may be insufficient for many pensioners. Although the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum will also rise, the actual impact of these changes on people's lives will be determined after the budget is approved. It may turn out to be less than expected.
This budget project has become an important topic for discussion, as the increase in social standards always generates public interest. However, if the planned changes do not meet the current needs of citizens, the government will have to look for additional solutions to improve the living conditions of the population. Attention to this issue will remain relevant until the final approval of the budget.
