Pensions in Ukraine will be recalculated according to new rules: who will receive more.
According to inkorr.com: Pensioners in Ukraine are being offered new opportunities to increase their pension payments under certain conditions. Experts emphasize that recalculating a pension is a right that should be used when needed, not just a one-time procedure.
Main grounds for recalculation
Increase in salary after retirement. If a pensioner continues to work and receives a higher salary, the Pension Fund may review the size of their payments. Recalculation is possible every two years and allows updating the pension amount, taking into account new income.
Additional insurance experience. Pensioners who have not stopped working can expect an increase in their pension after gaining new experience by contacting the Pension Fund with updated data. Sometimes just a few months of work can significantly impact the amount of payments.
Change in the minimum subsistence level. The amount of payments is automatically reviewed for non-working pensioners, as well as after stopping work for those who are employed. This is related to the linkage of pensions to the minimum subsistence level for individuals who have lost their ability to work.
Moreover, recalculation is provided in case new documents on income or experience are received if allowances for special merits or in case of loss of a breadwinner are appointed. For instance, military pensioners may receive additional payments after submitting updated certificates of monetary provision.
Indexation of pensions
The next indexation of pensions is scheduled for March 1, 2026. This initiative aims to compensate for the impact of inflation on the purchasing power of payments. In the state budget for pension provision, over 1 trillion hryvnias have been allocated, which will support stable payments for all categories of pensioners.
Experts recommend checking your experience and earnings in the electronic cabinet on the Pension Fund website, as well as keeping copies of your employment book, salary certificates, and data about insurance contributions. This can become the basis for increasing the pension.
Therefore, pensioners in Ukraine have the opportunity to increase their pension payments due to changes in certain circumstances. Experts emphasize the necessity of recalculating pensions to ensure equitable and relevant payments. The indexation of pensions scheduled for March 1, 2026, is also aimed at compensating for the impact of inflation, ensuring stability for all pensioners in Ukraine.
