Pensions in Ukraine will rise by 10% in 2026: who will receive more.
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, pensions are planned to be increased starting in 2026. According to the new budget, the government intends to raise the minimum pension by approximately 10% – from 2361 to 2595 hryvnias. The main increase is expected in March due to indexing.
The exact indexing coefficient will be established in February, taking into account the current year's statistics. The mechanism works as follows: the basic pension is increased by a certain percentage related to the growth of average wages and inflation.
If inflation is 9.6%, and wages grow as they did in 2024, pensions could increase by 15.4%. However, this still does not compensate for the overall price increase in recent years. MPs may propose their amendments during the budget discussion.
Currently, the average pension in Ukraine has increased by only 26.6 hryvnias, amounting to 6436.79 UAH. The highest payments are observed in Kyiv (8848.19 UAH), while the lowest are in Ternopil region (4996.69 UAH).
The average pension for pension judges amounts to 109898.29 UAH. During the same period, when the ordinary pension increased by only 26.6 UAH, payments to judges have nearly doubled. Meanwhile, for ordinary pensioners (excluding the pension for service), the average payment has increased by 15.37 UAH – to 6118.51 UAH.
According to the new budget, it is planned to raise the minimum pension by 10% in 2026. Thus, pensions may increase even more if inflation and the average salary grow at certain rates. This change is intended to compensate for rising prices, but details need clarification during budget work. Although the average pension in the country has increased slightly in recent months, it still remains quite low compared to other countries.
