Pensioners will receive additional payments from October 1: who is eligible.
According to inkorr.com: Starting from October 1, some Ukrainian pensioners will begin to receive additional payments to their pensions. This only applies to those who reach a certain age – it concerns age surcharges that partially compensate for the obsolescence of pensions. There will be no general pension indexation planned for October, as reported by OBOZ.UA.
Conditions for Receiving Payments
To receive these additional payments, a pensioner must meet two conditions: reach the established age threshold and have a pension no more than 10,340.3 hryvnias. The amounts of the surcharges depend on age: for individuals aged 70-74, an addition of 300 hryvnias is provided; for those aged 75-79 – 456 hryvnias; and for those aged 80 and older – 570 hryvnias per month.
'This addition is calculated automatically, so there is no need to contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine. There are several nuances regarding its receipt: the amount of the pension must not exceed 10,340.35 UAH; the surcharge is calculated from the day the respective age is reached,' they explain in the PFU.
Payments when Transitioning to a New Age Level
When transitioning to the next age level, the pensioner receives not the full amount of the new surcharge, but only the difference. For example, if a person reaches 75 years, they are credited 156 hryvnias to the already existing surcharge of 300 hryvnias, assigned at age 70. Thus, the total amount of the additional payment will be 456 hryvnias.
Therefore, starting from October 1, some Ukrainian pensioners will be able to receive additional pension payments that will compensate for the obsolescence of existing amounts. This will be an important support for elderly people and will help improve their financial situation. The conditions for receiving these payments are mostly simple: one just needs to adhere to age criteria and monitor the amount of their pension. Automatic calculation makes the process as convenient and clear as possible for recipients.
