Pensioners Abroad Must Undergo Identification: How to Proceed.
Physical Identification for Pensioners and Insurance Beneficiaries
According to inkorr.com: Citizens of Ukraine temporarily staying outside the country are required to undergo physical identification by December 31 of this year. This was reported by the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in the Luhansk region.
This requirement applies to those who are abroad for more than 183 days a year, including days of departure and return. Identification must also be undergone by those who have received temporary protection or refugee status due to Russian aggression, even if they have not formalized documents for permanent residence.
The Pension Fund offers three ways to undergo physical identification.
- First: remotely through Diia.Signature (Diia ID).
- Second: via video conferencing.
- Third: contacting the diplomatic mission of Ukraine abroad to obtain a certificate confirming the person's living status, which is then sent to the territorial bodies of the Pension Fund.
If physical identification is not completed, it may lead to the suspension of pension and insurance payments. It is also worth noting which categories of pensioners will not be able to rely on indexing in 2026.
Thus, the Pension Fund of Ukraine emphasizes the necessity of undergoing physical identification to receive social payments for those temporarily staying abroad by the end of the current year.
This procedure is crucial for those outside Ukraine, as it ensures the continuity of payments. Citizens are advised to take advantage of electronic options for convenience in fulfilling this requirement.
