Pensioners will pay for gas delivery regardless of consumption: regulator's explanation.
According to inkorr.com: The recent increase in utility tariffs has posed a serious challenge for pensioners. They especially feel the burden of the new gas delivery charges. However, the National Commission that regulates these matters states that payment for these services is mandatory regardless of age or gas consumption levels. Pensioners, like all other consumers, are obligated to incur such expenses.
Ignoring the complaints, the regulator explains that the cost of gas delivery is not linked to the consumption volumes. All subscribers must pay for delivery regardless of whether they use gas or not.
Challenges for Citizens
Additional difficulties arise for citizens due to the procedure for submitting meter readings: if the deadline is not met, bills can be inflated. Other tariffs are also being reviewed, and from October 1, 2025, special prices for services for apartments with electric heating are planned to be introduced. Some families are also facing reduced subsidies due to recalculations from the Pension Fund.
Complex Financial Situation
The increase in tariffs and problems with meter reading submission have led to financial difficulties for Ukrainian pensioners, requiring attention from the authorities and further measures to improve the situation.
Considering the financial burden faced by pensioners, it is important for the government to develop effective support measures for the elderly. There is a need to review subsidy policies and utility service costs to alleviate the financial burden on vulnerable segments of the population.
