Oschadbank to Deactivate Expired Cards: Steps Ukrainians Must Take to Keep Access to Their Accounts.
Replacing Expired Bank Cards
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's state-owned Oschadbank has urged all customers to replace bank cards that expired in February 2022. This includes individuals currently living abroad. Failure to act could result in losing access to linked accounts, so cardholders are strongly advised to take immediate steps.
The replacement requirement applies to cards that have seen no transactions since January 2025, as well as those with a zero balance. The following card types are subject to deactivation:
- Debit cards under the 'My Card' program
- Digital cards
- Payment disbursement cards
- Cards for children and teenagers
- Premium cards
Cards that have already had their validity extended will remain functional until December 31, 2026.
How to Get a Replacement Card
Customers can visit any Oschadbank branch to have their cards reissued. For those living abroad, a replacement can be arranged through a notarized power of attorney. For further details or assistance, clients can contact the Oschadbank call center at 0-800-210-800, or from outside Ukraine at +38 (044) 247-84-18.
This card renewal initiative is part of a broader effort to upgrade financial services in line with modern security and efficiency standards. As one of Ukraine's leading financial institutions, Oschadbank is working to ensure uninterrupted access to banking services even under changing circumstances. Customers are encouraged to pay close attention to these updates to avoid potential inconvenience in the future.
