Physical Identification for Ukrainian Pensioners

According to inkorr.com: Some Ukrainian pensioners need to complete the physical identification procedure by the end of 2025 to continue receiving their pension payments. For convenience, especially for those who have gone abroad or live in temporarily occupied territories, identification can be done via video communication.

For many pensioners, this procedure is extremely important, as many do not understand why it is necessary and how to complete it correctly. This is especially true for those living in temporarily occupied territories, those who have moved to areas controlled by Ukraine, or those currently temporarily abroad.

'This is probably the most pressing issue for Ukrainian pensioners,' noted a journalist.

Who Needs to Complete Identification by the End of the Year

  • pensioners living in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine;

  • those who have left the occupied territories and currently live in controlled areas;

  • individuals temporarily abroad, even if they are not internally displaced persons (IDPs).

It should be noted that before October 1, identification is not mandatory for pensioners, as this requirement applies only to recipients of social payments who previously received them through social protection authorities.

Ways to Complete Identification

  • personal visit to a service center or bank;

  • contacting the Ukrainian consulate abroad;

  • electronic confirmation via the website of the Pension Fund of Ukraine;

  • video communication for those who cannot use the previous options.

Video Identification Procedure

To apply for video identification, you need to fill out a form on the website of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. After that, a fund employee will contact you. The process takes about 20 minutes, during which you will be asked to show documents and answer questions.

After successful identification, pension payments will be resumed. Additionally, the Pension Fund of Ukraine has made changes regarding the digitization of employment records to avoid the loss of work experience when retiring.

It is important for all pensioners falling under this category to pay attention to the indicated deadlines and methods of identification, as this affects their support. Video identification will provide a convenient solution for those who cannot visit centers in person, ensuring access to necessary social payments.
