The United States of America continues to receive details about Ukraine's actions in Russia's Kursk region, particularly regarding the creation of a "buffer zone".
We are currently learning more about what the Ukrainians are doing in the territory of the Kursk region. We are working with Ukraine on how the idea of creating a buffer zone fits into our strategy on the battlefield. - stated Sabrina Singh, a Pentagon representative.
Singh also confirmed that the US has not changed its policy regarding the use of weapons in Russia. They allow Ukraine to respond to Russian attacks from border regions, including the Kursk and Sumy regions, in self-defense.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky first announced the creation of a buffer zone in the Kursk region on August 18. However, American officials are becoming uneasy about the potential over-deployment of Ukraine's forces if the operation in the Kursk region continues.
