The transition to daylight saving time remains: why the bill has not been signed.
The transition to daylight saving time remains
According to TSN.ua: In the matter of changing clocks in Ukraine, the traditional system continues to operate, as the bill aimed at abolishing the twice-yearly clock changes has remained unsigned by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Thus, the time change is not canceled, and Ukrainians will again adjust their clocks in the summer of 2026.
Current rules for changing clocks
According to current rules, daylight saving time in Ukraine begins on the last Sunday of March, and standard time on the last Sunday of October. In 2026, the transition to daylight saving time will occur on March 29 at 3:00 AM local time. Most modern gadgets will automatically update the time, which will simplify the adaptation process for the population.
Thus, despite discussions about the possibility of abolishing the clock change, Ukrainians will continue to live by the usual schedule for changing time.
The issue of clock changing in Ukraine remains relevant, especially in the context of global trends toward abolishing daylight saving time and standard time in many countries. This decision may impact various areas of life, including the economy, healthcare, and social activities. The lack of changes in legislation again highlights the need for further discussions and research regarding the optimization of time in Ukraine, taking into account the needs of the population and current challenges.
