Benefits of Working at Night - What You Need to Know in 2025.
Night shift pay in Ukraine has its own peculiarities stipulated by legislation. According to Art. 108 of the Labor Code of Ukraine, employees, including guards working at night, are entitled to special allowances to their salaries.
Features of Night Work Regulations and Salary Levels
Nighttime is considered the period from 10 PM to 6 AM. According to legislation, the duration of a night shift during martial law is not reduced by one hour. The rates for night work for guards are set within 1-2 tariff grades according to the Unified Tariff Grid.
Night work pay is made at an increased rate, which is determined by the general, sectoral agreement, and collective contract.
What Additional Payments Are Provided for Night Work
According to the Labor Code, employees who work at night receive additional payments. The allowance for night work can range from 20% to 40% of the tariff rate (salary). For example, guards are entitled to an allowance of up to 40% of the hourly tariff rate for each hour worked at night. The final amount depends on the terms of the collective agreement and the order.
By dividing the monthly salary by the monthly norm of worked hours, employees can determine the hourly rate for night shift pay. The norm of hours for such employees is 40 hours a week.
Ukrainian legislation provides special pay conditions for employees who work at night. They receive additional payments to their salary, which can vary from 20% to 40%. This is an important provision that protects the rights of employees and regulates payment for night work.
