First unrest? A man with a torch detained near the Capitol.
In the USA, a man who tried to enter the Capitol building with a torch soaked in a combustible odor was detained. This was reported by the Capitol police.
The man was stopped during a check at the Capitol Visitor Center. He had a torch and a flare with him. The Visitor Center is closed for investigation.
It is currently unknown whether this incident is related to the US presidential elections.
Security-related incidents have been recorded in Maine, Georgia, and North Carolina, but have not been proven credible. Voting was halted at certain polling stations in Georgia due to reports of bombing threats.
