The Pension Fund strengthened checks on subsidies: who risks losing payments

According to inkorr.com: The Pension Fund of Ukraine has started an active check of subsidy recipients. The conditions for receiving assistance have become stricter, and payments can now only be assigned under certain circumstances, particularly due to hidden incomes or large expenses.

Among the most common reasons for the denial of subsidy assignment are inaccuracies in declarations and undeclared incomes. The Pension Fund has access to government registries to verify this data.

“The Pension Fund now has access to all government registries, from bank accounts to the real estate registry,” emphasizes journalist Irina Polyakova.

Key factors for the Pension Fund:

  • Status of an individual entrepreneur. Even if a pensioner is unemployed, the status of an individual entrepreneur can negatively affect the receipt of subsidies.
  • Money from abroad. Such funds are considered income.
  • Errors in the declaration. Even minor inaccuracies can lead to the denial of assistance.

It is important to check large purchases and property status

Subsidies are provided only to those who really need them, so the condition of the applicant's property is carefully checked.

  1. Large purchases. Purchases totaling more than 100,000 hryvnias may constitute grounds for cancellation of the subsidy.
  2. Deposits and savings. Possession of a significant amount in bank accounts can also lead to denial.
  3. Additional housing. Owning another property may lead to the loss of the subsidy.
  4. Vehicles. A car younger than 5 years or the presence of multiple vehicles can become reasons for denial.

Important change in the provision of assistance for fuel

According to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution No. 1157, for those heating their homes with solid fuel, only one source of assistance is available: either monetary support from donors or a subsidy. However, the right to a subsidy for other utility services remains.

Unacceptable incomes affecting the subsidy

  • New basic social assistance.
  • National cashback.
  • Winter 'eSupport' and 'Vovina thousand'.
  • Child support received or paid.

How to solve the issue with utility debts?

If the debt for utility services exceeds 680 hryvnias and has existed for three months, payments may be suspended. However, the subsidy can be restored by entering into an agreement with the supplier to restructure the debt.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine has tightened control over subsidy recipients and assistance for solid fuel, actively detecting undeclared incomes and assets. This contributes to more effective assistance directed to those who truly need it.
