Double Service for Pension: Who Can Retire Early.
Early Retirement in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, some categories of workers can retire earlier due to the right to double service credit. This applies to individuals working in hazardous conditions, particularly in mines, high-risk medical institutions, or on ships. Each year of such work is counted as two years of pensionable service, allowing for a shorter time to retirement.
Conditions for Retirement
According to future plans, to retire at a specified time, a certain number of years of service must be accumulated. For example, by 2025, to retire at 60 years old, one needs to have at least 32 years of service. For workers in challenging conditions, it will be easier to meet this requirement due to double service credit.
To take advantage of such benefits, one must have the appropriate documents confirming the duration and conditions of employment.
This opportunity for early retirement supports the social protection of workers engaged in hazardous sectors. It is important that they can exercise their right to retirement as it helps ensure a decent life after their working years. However, for many, the issue of document accessibility and transparency in the process of service confirmation remains relevant.
