According to UATV: Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine, has called for the European Union to fundamentally rethink its approach to aiding Ukraine. He emphasized three critical areas: the speed of decision-making, a greater sense of responsibility, and a full recognition of the threat posed by Russia. The urgency of this reassessment is underscored by the nature of the current war, where an estimated 85-90% of attacks from the Russian Federation target Ukrainian civilians, residential areas, and energy infrastructure.

Podolyak highlighted the need for faster EU decisions, pointing to the United States as an example of a system that can act swiftly following internal debate because it does not require consensus among multiple nations. He argued that this efficiency is a crucial element the EU must incorporate into its support strategy for Ukraine. The ongoing conflict demonstrates that bureaucratic delays can have direct consequences on the ground.
