The card dates back to 1999 when Wizards of the Coast was running test leagues for players. Four official pre-release cards were given out as prizes, and several Raichu cards were mistakenly marked this way, though this error was never acknowledged.

This card was sold at Heritage Auctions in Dallas.

"It was an honor to present this extraordinary card that was kept secret,"
said consignment director Jesus Garcia.

"These cards were once a children's game, and now they have become a true collectibles market."

Earlier this year, Britons were urged to check their attics as a rare collection of Pokémon cards sold at a global auction for over £17,000.

One of the rare Pokémon cards — Shining Charizard 107/105 first edition from the Neo Destiny set — was sold for £1,250.

The first Neo Revelation set, which includes Shining Magikarp and Shining Gyarados, sold for £3,400.

One collection of rare first edition base set Pokémon cards was sold for £2,000.

A complete first Team Rocket set sold for £1,700, while a Fossil set went for £1,200.

What does Grade 10 mean?

What does Grade 10 mean?

Having a Pokémon card with Grade 10 means it is in perfect condition and can reach the highest value.

According to Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), a 10 is the highest possible grade one can receive.

This is defined by PSA as “a perfect card with no visible defects.”

Meanwhile, a Grade 9 card is considered “strong” in condition.

A Grade 9 card has only a few very minor flaws.

This could be something like a slightly yellowed edge, a tiny printing error, or a minor wax stain on the back.

While not perfect, a PSA 9 card still holds significant value and is considered a high-grade collectible.

A PSA 9 card is one that has been well cared for, with four sharp corners and only minor edge wear.

Pokémon cards require grading and verification of their condition by professional grading services, such as PSA.

This story highlights the growing interest in Pokémon collectible cards, which have become a true trend among collectors. The importance of cards with rare printing errors is increasing as they can bring significant profits at auctions. Stay tuned for updates, as the world of collecting can change in an instant.
