Road police now checks the spare tire: what is the fine for a faulty wheel.
According to inkorr.com: Car owners in Ukraine need to be more attentive, as the road police have started checking not only the main tires but also the spare wheel. A fine may be imposed for a faulty 'spare', reports 'Avtotema'.
Service life of spare tires
Experts note that spare tires also have a limited service life - approximately five years. Even if these tires are used rarely, the rubber deteriorates, which may lead to an accident at a critical moment.
The police refer to Article 121 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine. The fine for a faulty spare wheel is 340-510 hryvnias, and the car may be sent to a special parking lot in some cases.
Recommendations for drivers
Experts advise regularly checking the production date of the tires, ensuring proper storage conditions for the spare wheel, and avoiding the use of wheels with defects. Even if the spare wheel looks reliable, it can pose a serious threat in a dangerous situation.
Thus, Ukrainian drivers should exercise caution and regularly check the condition of the spare wheel to avoid potential dangers on the road.
