Poland stops accepting refugees from Ukraine: what the government will focus on.
Poland halts the acceptance of new refugees from Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Poland has announced its decision to stop accepting new refugees from Ukraine and focus on the integration of those Ukrainians who are already in the country. This announcement became known after the speech of the head of the Bureau of International Policy at the President of Poland, Marcin Przydacz.
Currently, about 1.5 million Ukrainians live in Poland, but over the past five years, only 26,000 of them have received Polish citizenship. This situation may complicate the adaptation process and lead to the creation of isolated migrant neighborhoods. The Polish government intends to focus on the social adaptation of the existing migrants to avoid potential social problems in the future.
“We want those already in Poland to integrate and become part of Polish society,” said Przydacz.
This decision by Poland indicates the country's intention to work more actively on the social integration of Ukrainians who have already become part of its society. In the context of a complex international situation, the governments of Ukraine's neighboring countries are trying to find an optimal solution to the refugee issue, considering the challenges arising in the social sphere.
