The 10th World Chess Champion Boris Spassky has died.


Chess player Boris Spassky died at the age of 89. He was the tenth world chess champion in history. This was reported by the president of the Russian Chess Federation Andrei Filatov.
In 1965, Spassky was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of the Soviet Union, and in 1969 he became the world champion, holding this title until 1972.
In 1976, he emigrated to France and since 1984 he represented France, not the Soviet Union.
I was not invited to Soviet tournaments and the national team, and eventually the sports committee of the USSR refused to pay the scholarship that I was entitled to as a grandmaster
In total, Spassky participated in three Olympics as part of the French national team.
Oleg Avdysh, the deputy general director of the football club 'Karpaty', did not return to Ukraine after the training camp and ceased cooperation with the club.
The football team was on a training camp in Turkey from January 18 to February 14.
The 'Karpaty' team confirmed that all club employees returned to Ukraine except for Avdysh.
The employment contract with Avdysh was terminated. He began working at 'Karpaty' in October 2024.
