Every second Ukrainian in Germany is employed: data from a new study.
According to inkorr.com: In Germany, Ukrainian immigrants are experiencing success in finding jobs. This data is provided by the German Federal Institute for Demographic Research. Over the past three years, the share of Ukrainians of working age who have been able to find work has tripled: now 51% of refugees have found jobs, whereas in 2022 this figure was only 16%.
'Many have managed to find jobs thanks to language and integration programs,' said the head of the study, Andreas Ette.
Job Satisfaction
The increase in the number of Ukrainians who have found work is accompanied by a rise in job satisfaction. A survey showed that among Ukrainian refugees under 50, the level of satisfaction changed: it rose from 87% in 2023 to 94% today.
Ukrainians' Personal Lives in Germany
Regarding the personal lives of Ukrainians in Germany, it was found that 29% of women who arrived without husbands no longer maintain relationships with former partners. Most Ukrainian women, even if they plan to stay in Germany for only a few years, have partners who dream of settling here permanently.
Children's and Teenagers' Opinions
However, about a quarter of the children and teenagers among Ukrainian refugees do not plan to stay in Germany, even if their parents want to. The situation is complicated by a lack of close ties with the German school system.
These changes in the lives of Ukrainian refugees reflect their adaptation to a new environment, although many face challenges in their personal lives and education. Despite the difficulties, the increase in employment levels indicates positive steps in the integration of Ukrainians into German society.
