Replenishing a cryptocurrency wallet with a single bill worth nearly 500 thousand UAH: a Ukrainian detained in Georgia.
In Tbilisi, a citizen of Ukraine was detained who replenished his cryptocurrency wallet with $11,5 thousand using a single $100 bill. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, writes NewsGeorgia.
According to the report, the man used a special laminated bill depicting $100 to replenish the cryptocurrency wallet through crypto machines located on various streets of Tbilisi. The offender credited 30,9 thousand Georgian lari to his wallet.
After committing the crime, the man was detained by the police. At the Time of the arrest, he was wearing a mask and gloves, but law enforcement managed to establish his identity. As a result of the detention, all illegally obtained cryptocurrency, as well as the mask and gloves, which are material evidence, were seized.
An investigation is ongoing into the theft on a large scale, punishable by up to 10 years of imprisonment.

At the beginning of August, the price of Bitcoin fell to the lowest level in the last five months due to an overall decline in financial markets amid concerns about the slowdown in economic growth in the United States, which reduced interest in risky investments.
Arrests in Kyiv
In addition, in Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained four men who are suspected of murdering a foreigner for Bitcoin. The criminals planned to kidnap the foreigner, the owner of Bitcoin, worth almost 7 million UAH.
The police claim that the suspects carefully planned this crime. They identified the address of the victim's residence and waited for him nearby. After his return home, the criminals beat him, forcibly dragged him into a car, and took him to an abandoned building in the Kyiv region.
