Prices are rising due to the new budget
The owner of a popular pub is forced to raise prices while blaming Rachel Reeves' budget for the 'difficult' decision. Wesley Birch, the manager of the Ship Inn pub in Brimscombe, Gloucestershire, stated that if he does not increase the price of alcohol and food, he will have to close the establishment."We have no choice but to raise prices, and we do this with a heavy heart," said Birch. The owner also noted that this decision is driven by a sharp rise in costs, which has significantly impacted their business. He expressed concern for the pub's future amid economic instability. In the face of constant changes in the economic environment, such decisions are becoming increasingly common among small businesses. Pubs and restaurants, like many other enterprises, are struggling to cope with the financial challenges posed by the new budget.
