What to Do if You Smell Gas in a Room
Today it is especially important to pay attention to safety issues, namely - how to act if you smell gas in a room.
This situation requires quick and correct actions, as it affects the health and even lives of the residents of the building. This is reported by the press service of the gas supply company 'Naftogaz Ukraine'.
If you smell gas, the first thing to do is to close the gas valve, first above the stove, and then, if possible, at the entrance to the building. Then it is important to open all windows and doors to ensure ventilation and reduce the concentration of gas in the air. Immediately evacuate all people and pets from the premises to avoid danger. Do not delay, call the gas emergency service at number 104.
It is important to remember that you should not try to find the gas leak or try to fix the problem on your own. This is a task for professionals, and any attempts to act on your own can lead to tragedy.
To avoid an explosion, be sure not to turn on the lights, electrical appliances, or use matches.
Follow these simple rules and be attentive to keep your home safe at all times.
