Schumacher's Health: A Positive Signal Appears for the First Time in 11 Years.
According to The Sun: The Formula 1 insider shared optimistic news about Michael Schumacher's health, who is still undergoing rehabilitation after the tragic skiing accident.
The Formula 1 icon has not appeared in public since 2013 after the skiing accident. Rex FeaturesJournalist Stéphane L'Ermit from L'Equipe believes that Schumacher may have made some progress in the last 12 months. He reported in the program Le Grand Récit:
“I would say he is not in the best condition, but perhaps he is beginning to improve, as we really know nothing. This year he signed a helmet for a charity event. Was it his wife who was holding his hand? We don't know for sure, but this is the first time we've seen any positive sign, almost a sign of life.”
In April, Schumacher signed the helmet of famous driver Sir Jackie Stewart, and this event sparked hopes of his recovery. It is known that he signed the helmet with the assistance of his wife Corinna, and the image shows his initials “M.S” on the lower right side of the helmet.
This signature was the only public act of the Formula 1 legend since his severe accident. L'Ermit noted that he is not aware of any news regarding Schumacher, and he believes the driver still cannot speak or communicate. But he emphasized:
“So we still deal with someone who breathes, who possibly has small interactions with family, but we cannot claim he is in good condition.”
Since the skiing accident on December 29, 2013, Schumacher has not communicated with the public. It is believed that only three people are allowed to visit him in his isolated home on the Spanish island of Mallorca. Michael's wife, Corinna, organized a closed circle of people to maintain the confidentiality of her husband's condition.
Last year, rumors surfaced that Michael supposedly attended his daughter Gina's wedding, 27, in Mallorca, but former teammate Johnny Herbert denied this information:
“As far as I understand, this was all fake news.”
Corinna also fell victim to a shocking blackmail case. Yilmaz Tozturkan and his son Daniel Lins threatened to publish videos and photographs of Michael if they were not paid £12 million.
Corinna helped Michael sign the helmet.
Guard Markus Frietze copied private materials while working for Schumacher and sold them to criminals. In February, this trio was found guilty.
Corinna demanded harsher punishment for Frietze, stating:
“What is even more shocking is the massive breach of trust. He must receive punishment that deters others from doing the same.”
Schumacher is one of the most successful Formula 1 drivers of all time and shares the record for the most world championships with Sir Lewis Hamilton. The German driver won titles in 1994, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004, as well as earning 155 podium finishes over his motorsport career.
What happened to Michael Schumacher?
Michael Schumacher barely survived over 12 years ago when doctors tried to save his life after a horrific skiing accident that caused serious head injuries.
The Formula 1 legend was provided with the best treatment – he was put in a medically induced coma, his body temperature was lowered, and he underwent numerous difficult head surgeries.
In 2013, the seven-time world champion, along with his 14-year-old son, descended the skiing slope Combe de Saulire at the exclusive French resort of Méribel.
The camera on his helmet recorded that he was not skiing at excessive speed when his skis hit a rock hidden under the snow. As a result, he landed face-first on the rock, causing severe injuries and the need for a medical helicopter.
Someone in the family must have mentally prepared for the worst news when the doctors reported that the situation was much worse than anticipated.
Initially, doctors said that Schumacher would remain in an induced coma for at least 48 hours, but the coma lasted 250 days – more than eight months.
After waking up in June 2014, he was discharged from the hospital, and he received further treatment at home on Lake Geneva.
Since then, his wife Corinna and close friends have carefully avoided publicity about his health condition. It has been noted that Schumacher is allegedly in a wheelchair but can respond to his surroundings.
In 2019, it was reported that Schumacher was undergoing revolutionary stem cell therapy to restore functions of the nervous system. Renowned cardiologist of France, Dr. Philippe Menash, who previously performed surgical interventions, was to carry out this procedure.
Michael Schumacher's recovery has been the subject of numerous discussions in the motorsport world and beyond. Observers hope that even the tiniest positive signs of his progress can inspire his fans. Corinna Schumacher continues to do everything possible to protect and support her husband during this difficult time, maintaining the privacy of their family. Read also
