This store was set to close on September 14, as it was part of a list of 68 stores that were planned to shut down as part of a restructuring program.

Before the closure, shoppers were actively clearing the shelves, but now the store has restocked its supplies.

Local residents reacted positively to the news of the store's continued operation.

“Aww this is fantastic news, I’m soooo pleased for all the girls who work there.”
“Glad Poundland to live on.”
“omg buzzing.”
“This is my closest decent pound shop.”

According to recent data, Poundland has closed up to 57 stores since August as part of its radical restructuring plans.

Last month, the chain obtained permission from the higher court to continue the changes after selling to Gordon Brothers.

As part of these changes, the closure of up to 68 stores and a reduction of 1,000 jobs is planned.

Among them, six stores will close on September 28, located in Havant, Newport, and Swanley.

From September 16, customers will also be unable to purchase items on the website, and their loyalty program, Poundland Perks, will be canceled.

Additionally, the chain will close its frozen and digital distribution center in Darton, South Yorkshire, by the end of this year.

Poundland has also launched significant promotions with discounts of up to 90%.

All Changes at Poundland

This news comes as Poundland returns to its roots, planning to increase the number of products sold for a pound.

As part of the policy review, the chain will introduce prices on products of £1, £2, and £3 in all stores.

New prices will gradually take effect in all Poundland stores across the UK this month.

Ultimately, the percentage of products sold for £1 will increase to 60%. Twenty percent of products will be priced at £2, and another 20% at £3.
