The Poundland store chain has decided to return to its roots and once again offer customers fixed-price items in pounds. After price changes in recent years, the store is going back to its original concept – placing items at prices in pounds. Each product will cost one of three prices: £1, £2, or £3 – with 65 percent of the products priced at one pound. In the store, items will be divided into sections depending on the price, making shopping more convenient for customers.Part of the product range will be halved, and the store will eliminate most sales, leaving only one promotion: two items for £3.Barry Williams, the management director, noted that customers have clearly expressed their preference for simplicity and focus on a specific price that the store promises. Additionally, some stores in the chain have already closed, and others will be shut down by mid-October if lease agreements cannot be extended.
