A collaborator from Mykolaiv region sentenced to 8 years for spying for the Russian Federation.
According to ТСН: The First-Mai City Court of Mykolaiv region issued a verdict to a local resident who, having "pro-Russian views", transmitted data on the location and movement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to representatives of the aggressor country. She was found guilty of committing a particularly serious crime and sentenced to 8 years in prison.
This is stated in the verdict of the court.
Transmission of data about the Armed Forces of Ukraine and TCC
Investigators and the court found that, living in First-Mai, the accused maintained contact with citizens of the Russian Federation via the messenger Telegram.
It is known that:
On September 24 and October 12, 2024 she sent her sister living in Russia 12 photos and 3 video recordings, as well as another 13 photographs, which recorded the location of military personnel (the TCC alert group) near the bridge junction on the Southern Bug River in First-Mai. The woman informed her sister about the "conduct of mobilization measures".
On March 21, 2025 she voluntarily began correspondence with a representative of the Russian Federation whose activity was collecting information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the message, the accused described the increase in military transport, rumors about "raids" and the movement of military trucks and fuel trucks.
On the same day, she sent him an album with six photographs, showing a column of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (three Humvee armored vehicles) in the center of First-Mai.
The court confirmed that the information disseminated by the accused was not publicly available to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other authorized bodies.
Workplace as a "gathering point"
Investigators established that the woman collected information both at home and at work in the municipal institution "Children's Music School" on Hrushevskyi Street in First-Mai.
During a search, her mobile phone was seized, which, in addition to the correspondence, contained 77 photographs of military equipment and Armed Forces of Ukraine personnel. It was also confirmed that the accused's account was subscribed to several pro-Russian Telegram communities.
Court decision
In the court session, the accused fully confessed her guilt and sincerely repented, emphasizing that she did not intend to harm the country's defense capability.
The court took into account that the crime, provided for by Article 114-2, part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law for the purpose of transferring it to the aggressor), is particularly serious and poses "extremely high public danger".
The woman was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment.
This case highlights the seriousness of the situation related to information leaks that can harm national security. Crimes related to data transmission to the aggressor are extremely dangerous and carry severe legal consequences, as evidenced by the court's verdict. Each such case serves as a reminder of the importance of exercising caution in times of military conflict and preventing the dissemination of sensitive information. The court's ruling also reflects the social responsibility at these difficult times for the country.
