Liverpool set a British transfer record by signing Florian Wirtz for £116.5 million, and on transfer deadline day, they broke that record again by signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle for an astounding £130 million.
Another five clubs spent over £200 million, including Chelsea, Newcastle United, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Nottingham Forest.
United significantly spent on attacking players in a bid to return to the top. Ruben Amorim supported spending over £200 million on three new forwards: Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha.
Sesko became the club's biggest signing, moving from RB Leipzig for £74 million.
North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham participated in one of the most dramatic transfers of the window.
The Gunners swooped in to secure the deal for Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace for £67.5 million.
This prompted Thomas Frank's team to turn to Xavi Simons as an alternative for £52 million.
Only six top-flight clubs spent less than £100 million during the summer transfer window: Wolverhampton, Aston Villa, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Burnley.
