PrivatBank to Offer Remote Pension Account Setup

According to Novyny.live: Starting in 2026, PrivatBank will introduce a new service allowing its existing clients to open pension accounts remotely. This digital option will be available to Ukrainian citizens receiving old-age pensions, disability benefits, social assistance, or military pensions. This move is part of a broader digital transformation in Ukraine's banking sector, aiming to increase convenience for customers.

To open an account, eligible clients will need to use a 'Digital' card, accessible via the Privat24 mobile app or web portal. The setup process requires authorization in Privat24 and involves a few simple steps. The Digital card will appear in the user's electronic wallet within ten minutes of completing the procedure.

Benefits of the Digital Card

These cards will enable users to perform a variety of financial transactions, including:

  • Making online purchases;
  • Paying utility bills;
  • Sending and receiving domestic money transfers.

It is important to note, however, that these cards will be denominated in the Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) and will not be able to receive international wire transfers from abroad.

This innovation by PrivatBank is designed to simplify the process of receiving pension payments for its clients by providing full remote service capabilities.

The introduction of remote pension account opening at PrivatBank could be a significant step in the development of digital financial services in Ukraine.

This change is expected to particularly improve access to banking services for the elderly and people with disabilities, who may face challenges visiting physical bank branches. The decision is also anticipated to boost the overall adoption of electronic financial tools among Ukrainian citizens.
