PrivatBank to Introduce New Cash Withdrawal Limits in 2026.
PrivatBank's New Cash Withdrawal Restrictions for 2026
According to Novyny.live: PrivatBank will implement new daily cash withdrawal limits for its customers starting in 2026. Under the new rules, clients will be able to withdraw up to 100,000 hryvnias per day at the bank's teller counters. Furthermore, for customers withdrawing cash from a card issued by another financial institution, the limit will be capped at 20,000 hryvnias per transaction and per day.
These restrictions also apply to foreign currency withdrawals from client accounts, which will be limited to the equivalent of 100,000 hryvnias daily. At ATMs, PrivatBank customers will be able to withdraw up to 20,000 hryvnias within a three-hour period, with a total daily limit of 100,000 hryvnias for some clients.
Limits for Cardless and International Withdrawals
For those planning to withdraw funds without a card, the following limits are set:
- The first withdrawal will be 4,000 hryvnias per day;
- Subsequent withdrawals – 4,000 hryvnias per transaction, with an overall daily limit of 20,000 hryvnias;
- Cashback at point-of-sale terminals in various stores is limited to 6,000 hryvnias.
Customers using their cards outside of Ukraine will be able to withdraw cash in hryvnias up to 12,500 hryvnias per week. For foreign currency cards, the cash withdrawal limit will be up to the equivalent of 100,000 hryvnias per day. Additionally, a 2% commission will apply to cash withdrawals from PrivatBank cards outside Ukraine.
Consequently, the new regulations introduced by PrivatBank will significantly alter the conditions for cash withdrawals for customers in 2026.
These changes are likely to impact the financial habits of customers accustomed to more liberal cash withdrawal terms. Such limits may encourage a shift towards greater use of cashless payments, reflecting a broader global trend toward the digitalization of financial services. As Ukraine's largest retail bank, PrivatBank's policy changes often set a precedent for the market. Customers should take note of the new rules and plan their financial transactions in accordance with the stated limits.
