PrivatBank may block the account: under what conditions and how to unblock the funds.
Why PrivatBank can block a card
The state-owned PrivatBank, like any banking institution, has the right to restrict access to its clients' accounts in certain cases, explained specialists from the legal company 'Prykhodko and Partners'. Among the main reasons are:
- Suspicion of fraud or illegal activity - if unusual transactions are observed on the accounts, transfers of large amounts are made without a clear purpose, or operations that lack documentary confirmation.
- Judicial or executive service decision - this may occur due to existing debts (alimony, loans, fines, etc.) or property disputes.
- Insufficient client identification - if the bank lacks documents, such as a copy of the passport.
- Technical failures - in some cases, a card may be blocked due to internal errors of the bank.
To find out the reason for the blocking of access to funds, you need to call the PrivatBank hotline or write in the chatbot in the Privat24 application.
How to unblock a card
This can be done in several ways - it all depends on the reason for the blocking. If PrivatBank restricted access to the account due to the need to confirm identity or the origin of funds, you need to provide the relevant documents (passport, income statement, contracts or invoices that can serve as proof of the legality of transactions).
In the case of blocking the card due to debts on loans, it is necessary to submit an application to PrivatBank for partial lifting of restrictions in order to be able to withdraw up to UAH 13,400 per month. It is advisable to agree with the creditor on a repayment schedule and sign a settlement agreement.
If the card was blocked based on a court decision, a counterclaim can be filed to cancel the enforcement inscription.
The submitted material reveals possible reasons that may lead to the blocking of PrivatBank clients' cards, as well as provides advice on further actions in similar situations. It is important to be prepared for such restrictions and know how to quickly resolve the issue when communicating with the bank.Read also
