Sales of New Cars in Ukraine Increased: Toyota is the Leader, and Duster is the Most Popular Model.
According to inkorr.com: In August, around 6.8 thousand new passenger cars were registered in Ukraine, which is 5% more than in July. This was reported by Ukravtoprom.
'In this month, Ukrainians purchased approximately 6.8 thousand new passenger cars. Compared to July, the demand for new cars increased by 5%', - the report says.
Changes in Sales Compared to Last Year
At the same time, compared to August of last year, the number of sold passenger cars decreased by 16%. However, Ukravtoprom notes that a year ago, demand was significantly higher due to expectations of the introduction of an additional 15% tax on car purchases. The results of August 2025 became the best in the last 11 months.
'The market leader remains the Japanese brand Toyota - 999 units. Also, the top five best-selling brands include BYD - 860 units, Renault - 529 units, Volkswagen - 527 units, and Skoda - 407 units.'
Popular Car Models
The most popular car in August was the compact crossover Renault Duster, with sales totaling 486 units. Since the beginning of the year, 46 thousand new passenger cars have been registered in Ukraine, which is 3% less than in the same period last year.
Thus, the demand for new passenger cars in Ukraine in August was higher than in the previous month. Although compared to last year, sales decreased, this can be explained by peak demand in previous periods. The Japanese brand Toyota remains the most popular among consumers, while Renault Duster tops the sales rating in August.
