New Wave of Price Increases in Ukraine: Which Products Will See Prices Rise by Up to 10%.
According to ТСН: After the New Year holidays, new changes in prices are expected in Ukraine.
Price Increases on Products
Economist Volodymyr Chizh commented on the situation, stating that
“This especially concerns butter, dairy products, and products that require storage or processing. Accordingly, the anticipated price increase will be in the range of 7-10%,”
Chizh also explained that avoiding price increases is impossible, as costs are rising. This relates, in particular, to animal feed, logistics, fuel, and energy resources, which directly affect the cost formation.
Impact of Power Outages
Moreover, due to power outages, manufacturers are forced to buy generators and gasoline, since without refrigerators, dairy products spoil quickly.
Food Price Forecasts
It was previously reported that prolonged power outages in Ukraine could lead to food prices increasing by up to 30%, especially dairy products and meat, which require constant cooling. However, it should be noted that vegetables, especially potatoes, will remain more stable in price and will not experience significant changes.
Seasonal Demand at the End of the Year
At the end of the year, the Ukrainian market usually sees an increase in demand. This is associated with people's preparation for Christmas and New Year holidays. Pre-holiday demand in December can raise prices by 1.5-7%.
In light of these changes, Ukrainians should be prepared for new pricing challenges. Rising production costs and seasonal demand fluctuations may significantly impact consumers' budgets. The situation with electricity supply and the necessity to use alternative energy sources further complicates price forecasting in the near future.
