Odesa Public Transport Fare Set to Rise to 25 UAH: Who Will Be Affected by the New Pricing.
Public Transport Fares in Odesa and Odesa Region in 2026
According to Novyny.live: In July 2026, Odesa city transport fares remain unchanged, but prices on several suburban and intercity routes in Odesa Region have already gone up due to rising costs. A specialized deputy commission of the Odesa City Council has backed a potential fare increase for minibuses to 25 UAH. Currently, tram and trolleybus rides cost 15 UAH, while most city minibuses charge 20 UAH. Some social bus services on select routes continue to operate free of charge.
Revised Pricing for Intra-Regional and Intercity Routes
Starting April 10, 2026, Odesa Region raised fares for intra-regional passenger transport by 30%. This has led to specific price hikes on certain routes:
- Route No. 25 tickets increased from 50 to 65 UAH;
- Route No. 20 connecting Chornomorsk and Velykodolynske now costs 30 UAH;
- A trip from Reni to Odesa rose from 600 to 780 UAH;
- Travel from Reni to Izmail went from 150 to 200 UAH;
- The Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi to Odesa route jumped from 160 to 200 UAH.
Despite higher fares for suburban and intercity travel, water supply tariffs in Odesa have not been revised since 2022. Transport operators had proposed a fare range of 32 to 45 UAH, but no final decision on the increase has been made yet.
“The rise in suburban and intercity transport fares in Odesa Region reflects a broader trend of increasing costs for transportation services.”

This trend is likely tied to inflationary pressures and climbing fuel prices. Meanwhile, the freeze on water supply tariffs indicates that city authorities are not yet adjusting utility prices—a move that could threaten the financial stability of service providers. This situation is creating tension among transport operators, who are pushing for fare revisions to cover their expenses, which could ultimately affect how affordable public transport remains for residents.
